BD Consulting - Profil

Profile

Bettina Dölken - For me personally, values are crucial. They determine what I do.

I love life and put passion and conviction into everything that I do. I also incorporate this authentic vitality into my coaching and training sessions. Furthermore, I am a curious person and have already experienced a wide variety of locations and activities throughout my life on both a professional and personal level.

My inquisitiveness led me to study in the USA, where I lived for two and a half years. It also enabled me to gain experience working as a headhunter in the field of human resources consulting and as the founder of the company TeamSing. In my private life, it was thanks to my curiosity and desire to challenge myself that I joined a gospel choir at the age of over 40 despite having no singing or choir experience whatsoever.

I always focus on preserving or achieving a sense of ease in everything that I do. I strongly believe that we all have the ability to make our lives both fulfilling and successful. If we can successfully manage to remove the drama from difficult situations and make space for humour and a sense of ease, we can regain access to all of our resources. Thus, the solution to our problems is definitely within reach.

In my opinion, the glass is always half full and if it does happen to look half empty, I simply change my perspective or take it with humour. With this unique mix of personal qualities and experiences, I am happy to support you to achieve your goals.

My Professional Development

After completing a German "Diplom" degree in Business Administration, specialising in Marketing, I began my career in the field of product management at Bayer HealthCare. It soon became clear that I was so fascinated by psychology, which is commonly defined as "the science of the human mind and behaviour", that I wanted to explore the interpersonal aspects involved in organisations in more detail. During my many years of work as a product and project manager, I therefore came to the decision to aim for a postgraduate degree focusing on "Management" in the USA, which led me to achieve my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1992. I have been working as a freelance management trainer, consultant and workshop facilitator ever since.

Alongside my certificate as a coach at the Institut für Angewandte Psychologie (Institute for Applied Psychology) run by Prof. Dr Manuel Tusch, I am also a qualified NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) Master Practitioner (Robert Dilts). I am additionally certified in several psychological instruments (9 Levels Value Analysis, MBTI®, HBDI® and FIRO-B® et al.), which I incorporate into my coaching process where needed. I have also completed a wide variety of further education courses both in Germany and abroad in subjects such as systematic management, Gestalt therapy, provocative therapy, Jungian psychology and systemic constellations.

My Experiences

Portrait - Bettina Dölken

My two-and-a-half-year stay in the USA had a strong impact on my life. On the one hand, my university studies in the USA introduced me to the concept of the "Learning Organization" according to Peter Senge for the first time and I went on to intensively examine this approach. The 1990s saw the development of the discipline of Change Management, which strongly incorporated Senge's ideas. This discipline has since led to the creation of a comprehensive range of concepts and methods for organisational and human resources development, which I also use in my workshops and training sessions.

On the other hand, my time spent in the USA also gave me the opportunity to get to know the language, people and culture of a different country and to experience how it feels to be a foreigner and have to get my bearings in an unknown territory for myself. This experience additionally had a strong impact on me as a person and helped me to mature.

My professional development and my wide range of experiences throughout my life now form the foundation for my current work as a consultant, trainer and coach.
